The Plant of the Year Awards are focused on celebrating the most recent greenfield, brownfield or plant extensions in Africa’s food industry

The pace of investments in Africa’s food manufacturing capability continues to soar, and with it, there is an upsurge of new factories or plant extensions being built across the Continent.

This Award celebrates some of the most outstanding projects in the food industry, with a particular focus on the new facilities’ sustainability, efficiency and safety credentials.

 

NEW PLANT OF THE YEAR AWARD CATEGORIES
Dairy Plant of the Year Awarded to the most outstanding greenfield or brownfield dairy factory or plant extension that stands out for its application of new technologies, efficiency, sustainability (water, waste, energy) and safety credentials; plus impact on the community in which it has been built.
Milling Plant of the Year Awarded to the most outstanding greenfield or brownfield milling, cereals and pulses factory or plant extension that stands out for its application of new technologies, efficiency, sustainability (water, waste, energy) and safety credentials; plus impact on the community in which it has been built.
Beverage Plant of the Year Awarded to the most outstanding greenfield or brownfield soft, alcoholic and hot beverages factory or plant extension that stands out for its application of new technologies, efficiency, sustainability (water, waste, energy) and safety credentials; plus impact on the community in which it has been built.
Chilled & Fresh Plant of the Year Awarded to the most outstanding greenfield or brownfield meat, fruits and vegetables factory or plant extension that stands out for its application of new technologies, efficiency, sustainability (water, waste, energy) and safety credentials; plus impact on the community in which it has been built.
Bakery & Snack Plant of the Year Awarded to the most outstanding greenfield or brownfield bakery or snack factory or plant extension that stands out for its application of new technologies, efficiency, sustainability (water, waste, energy) and safety credentials; plus impact on the community in which it has been built.
Sugar & Confectionery Plant of the Year Awarded to the most outstanding greenfield or brownfield sugar or confectionery factory or plant extension that stands out for its application of new technologies, efficiency, sustainability (water, waste, energy) and safety credentials; plus impact on the community in which it has been built.
Culinary & Condiments Plant of the Year Awarded to the most outstanding greenfield or brownfield culinary and condiments factory or plant extension that stands out for its application of new technologies, efficiency, sustainability (water, waste, energy) and safety credentials; plus impact on the community in which it has been built.
