The New Products of the Year Award is the region’s only opportunity for food manufacturers to have their innovations compete with the rest of the region’s best to identify the region’s most outstanding new products.

But beyond the new products that win an accolade, the Awards also celebrate the individuals, teams and companies that have taken their time to understand consumer needs and put together the formulation, packaging and market outreach activities to make the new products stand out in the consumers’ eye.

The pace of innovation and new products’ launch in sub-Saharan Africa has picked up in the last few years, as locally-owned companies and multinational giants jostle for the growing demand for food products, from more discerning and choosy consumers.

The New Products of the Year award seeks to encourage greater and more thoughtful and impactful innovation coming out of Africa’s food industry.
