The Judging Panel is responsible for managing the Awards process, and deciding on the winners of the various categories

The judges for this year’s Awards, who are individuals with good knowledge of the industry and market trends in the region,

This year’s judges include the following:

Colm D’Olier – GM Business Development, Promaco Ltd

Charity Magwenzi – R&D Manager, Capwell Industries

Marvin Murphy – General Manager, East Africa, Mane Flavours

Cyprian Kabbis – CRS & Food Business Manager, SGS

Virginia Nyoro – Quality Systems Manager, Brookside Dairy

Gideon Rono – Unilever

Micah Wanyama – Commercialisation Manager East Africa, Coca-Cola Central, East & West Africa

Joseph Nyongesa – Chairman, IOPPK

Chirag Tak – General Manager, Ramco Plexus


On receipt of the Application Forms, the panel will use the set criteria to assign marks to each of the entries.

The top 3 entries will be shortlisted. The shortlisted entries will then go for the final process to decide the winner.

The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into with any party after the announcement of the winners.

The winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on April 27, 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya


Only companies manufacturing branded consumer food products for the retail market from Kenya are eligible for the 2018 edition of the New Products of the Year awards category.

Only products launched between January 1, 2016 and March 31, 2018 can be entered for this year’s Awards.

Only individuals from the manufacturing, retail, academia and foodservice industry in Kenya are eligible for the 2018 edition of the Industry Champion Award category.


The deadline for receiving the Nomination forms is April 18, 2018 at 1800 hours.


Entries must be filled on the online Application Form available on this website only. No other form or means of submitting the nominations will be accepted.
